How to get to Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer

You have several options how to get to Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, either by car or by public transport.

 

By Car:

  1. From Arles: If you’re coming from the nearby city of Arles, which is about 38 kilometers away, follow the D570 south towards Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer. This is the most common route by car.
  2. From Montpellier: If you’re coming from Montpellier, take the A9 motorway southbound towards Nîmes and then continue on the A54 towards Arles. From Arles, follow the D570 as mentioned earlier.
  3. From Marseille: From Marseille, you can take the A55 motorway towards Fos-sur-Mer and then continue on the A54 towards Arles. Once in Arles, follow the D570 to Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer.

Parking in Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer:

  • Street parking – blue zones, free with “blue disks”, but limited in time (max. 1:30).
  • The blue time-disc (European model) must display the arrival time for each vehicle. It should be placed behind the windshield and easily readable. It is prohibited to alter the time on the disc without moving the vehicle.
  • A fine of €17 will be imposed for non-compliance with the regulations, such as failing to display the time-disc or exceeding the allowed parking duration.
