Around Bonifacio

Best Bonifacio travel guide

In the area around Bonifacio you can admire magnificent landscapes, fantastically beautiful beaches, or take an excursion to the Lavezzi Islands. The coast around the city is very picturesque, there are several famous Mediterranean beaches nearby, separated by cliffs, caves and picturesque coastal landscapes, including the Fazzio Calanques, a nature reserve.

Bonifacio Beaches

Among the most popular beaches in Corsica are those in the bays of Sant’Amanza and Rondinara and the beach in Petit Sperone, but you will find others that are also very nice – the choice depends largely on whether you prefer a large sandy beach or a smaller beach in a small bay…

Lavezzi Islands

A protected marine reserve, the Lavezzi Islands are just off the coast of Bonifacio. Cruises to the islands depart from the town (see below timetable and prices), with a walk around the largest of the islands. The trip takes about 3 hours, and you can admire the stunning cliffs of Bonifacio from the sea. There are no facilities on the islands (so bring food, plenty of water and sunscreen!), but they are a great place to walk, relax on the beach, or snorkel.
