Parking in Ribeauvillé

Parking regulations in Ribeauvillé were updated in 2011 to ensure convenient access to the town while keeping the historic center as car-free as possible. Fortunately, the town does not seek to exploit tourists and is offering free parking right next to the center. However, it is important to note that peripheral parking along the ramparts is simply street parking that fills up completely by lunchtime on weekends. If you don’t have time for endless searches for a free spot, it’s easier to park in the paid lot at the start of the old town (Place du Général de Gaulle), located at the entrance to Ribeauvillé (also where the bus stop and a free toilet are). Parking here costs just a few euros.

Parking Zones in Ribeauvillé

The town is divided into several color-coded zones, each with different parking regulations:

  • DARK BLUE ZONE
    This area covers Grand’Rue from the Tourist Office to Place de la Sinne (not included in this zone). Parking is permitted for everyone every day (including Sundays and public holidays) from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM for 30 minutes with the mandatory use of a European parking disc.
  • BLUE ZONE
    Includes the historic center of the town: the area between the ramparts. Parking is allowed for everyone every day* (including Sundays and public holidays) from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM for 2 hours with the mandatory use of a European parking disc.
  • GREEN ZONE
    Refers to all parking lots and peripheral parking spaces outside the historic center. Parking is free and unlimited.
  • RED ZONE
    Refers only to paid parking at Place du Général de Gaulle and Place de l’Hôtel de Ville.

 

Parking Discs

Parking discs can be obtained for free at the town hall registration desk (Place de l’Hôtel de Ville), the municipal police station (Place de l’Hôtel de Ville), and the Tourist Office (Grand’Rue, 1). The time on the disc should reflect your ARRIVAL time at the parking spot. Changing the time while parked is prohibited and can result in a fine for overdue parking.
